William T. Macirowski

Performer, composer, and educator William T. Macirowski began his career as a professional bassist at the age of 14 as an orchestra member for various musical theater companies in New Jersey. After a few years of being heavily involved in the theater scene, Macirowski began to focus on seriously studying the bass and accepted an invitation to study with local bass legend Joe Macaro. From there, Macirowski went on to Rutgers University's Mason Gross School of the Arts to study jazz bass with Mike Richmond, eventually obtaining his Bachelor of Music, Jazz Studies in 2011. Macirowski later went on to receive his Master of Music, Jazz Studies in 2013, also from Rutgers University.

Macirowski is currently the Assistant Director for the Rutgers Youth Jazz Ensemble; an ensemble that is dedicated to preparing young musicians for a career in jazz as well as preparing for college. Macirowski also teaches private lessons for jazz and classical upright bass, all styles of electric bass; fretless or fretted.

Private Lessons are available in the students home for electric bass (fretted and fretless), upright bass, jazz theory, improvisation, composition and arranging, as well as college preparation. Monthly lessons are discounted. Please email for more information.
